Gather, connect and Nourish

Hunger is one of the most complex issues we work with at Wild Rose Community Connections. Whether we are hungering for connections with others, sustenance or both - the void can be ever-present. Our community has a number of different ways we are working towards nourishing the bodies and souls of the communities we serve.

FOODConnexx Programs

Claresholm Announcement:

It is with deep regret that WRCC has had to close our Claresholm FoodConnexx in September 2025. The space that was made available through a generous lease rate from our landlord, however, the company requires the space to expand their company. Given our current funding challenges, we are no longer able to offer this service.

Please visit the Claresholm Food Bank for your food security needs.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our supporters and donors.

Claresholm IGA has been there for us since 2020 and continues to work with other community organizations to distribute donated food.

High river Food Security HUb

FoodConnexx reduces food insecurity, provide a means for vulnerable people to access food in a manner that maintains dignity, builds community and challenges inequality.

Most food establishments such as grocery stores and restaurants have goods from week to week that cannot be sold due to damage, excess or imminent best before dates, but may be perfectly still consumable. With the help of our partners we rescue this food weekly that would have otherwise gone to the landfill. We are affiliated with Food Banks Alberta.

High River Food Distributions Changes - Effective February 22, 2026 at 54 10th Ave SE. For the month of March, there will no longer be appointments for hampers.

Market Style distribution: Every Sunday and Monday from 1:00 - 3:30 those registered with the FoodConnexx Program can drop in on one of those days to pick up food.

HARVEST HIGH RIVER

When struggling to make ends meet, putting fresh produce on the table can be especially challenging. The general public is permitted to collect fresh fruits and vegetables from public (Town owned) trees and shrubs. In partnership with the Town, the locations of items that can be picked have been mapped.
